about

More fun with the new keyboard. This was a humorous, 50's Phil Spector-type song that was used as part of a soundtrack to an independent film shot in New York (I've done a lot of soundtrack work over the years). The subject of this song really seems to think he's found the one. So much so that he doesn't even need his pen anymore.

I was still living in a cramped East Village apartment at the time I recorded this. My neighbors must've thought I was crazy, screaming "heaven" over and over again at the top of my lungs.

lyrics

What if I was to fall in love with the most
beautiful girl in the world?
And what if she was to fall in love with me too?
That would be heaven
H-E-A-V-E-N, heaven!

All my friends would say to me we're the most
perfect couple I ever did see
Ask me please, "can I borrow your pen?"
I say, "sure thing man, I don't need it no more!"
In the park we'd swim in the lake
I'd touch the bottom
and that would be heaven
Yeah, that would be heaven

I see a vision of beauty before my eyes
And it's heaven
1-2-3-4, heaven!
